BOSS – Business & Operational Systems Surveillance
Most organisations rely on periodic reviews, audits, and reporting to understand risk and cost exposure. These approaches provide snapshots in time, but they rarely show how risk is actually accumulating between reviews, across systems, and between functions.
BOSS is an independent surveillance capability designed to identify unmanaged risk, hidden cost, and governance gaps as they develop. It operates across maintenance, operations, finance, and supply systems to surface issues that sit outside normal reporting and line visibility. Rather than assessing intent, BOSS examines evidence. It analyses how work is initiated, funded, executed, recorded, and closed, and how information moves between systems. This allows patterns, inconsistencies, and exposure to be identified before they present as incidents, losses, or claims.
BOSS is not a replacement for existing systems, audits, or assurance processes. It operates alongside them, providing an additional layer of visibility focused on what is actually happening, not what is assumed to be happening.
What BOSS does
BOSS continuously reviews operational, maintenance, and financial data to identify:
- Risk accumulating outside formal controls
- Cost leakage hidden within normal work activity
- Breakdown between systems and ownership boundaries
- Early indicators of asset, process, or governance failure
Analysis is structured, traceable, and evidence based. Findings are prioritised based on exposure and consequence, allowing attention to be directed where it matters.
Who BOSS is for
BOSS is used where independent visibility is required, including:
- Asset owners seeking early risk visibility
- Insurers and loss adjusters assessing exposure
- Boards requiring assurance beyond periodic reviews
- Executives responsible for cost, risk, and operational integrity
